A Delightful Group of Students!

I am enjoying this darling class so much! They are just delightful students. This week we will re-take a math test (money) for those who did not do as well as expected. If your child got below 50 (out of 65) I will give them a chance to try again on Wednesday. We have been exploring numbers and doing some double-digit addition and will soon move on to double-digit subtraction. The new math packet went home on Friday.
This week we will be reviewing Unit 2 in Reading. Our spelling test will be a review list.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

A quiet moment during centers or writer's workshop makes me realize how grateful I am for the sweet children in my class. Thank you for sharing your little ones with me.
Because of the (very) short week we will be doing review activities this week. No spelling test!
                         * Math Topic Test 5 on money will be given on Tuesday.

Great to Celebrate!

It was so enjoyable to see you all and celebrate the many accomplishments of your children! I think we have a darling class.
In math we are working on money-counting it by adding on and knowing the value of each coin. This is critical information, even though we rarely use cash these days. It still is the foundation for our monetary system!
Here is the background for our new reading unit...
