Yes for Technology!
Thank you Chevron!!! We are the recipient of a "Donors Choose" grant funded (last night) by Chevron. We never have enough money for technology and I heard that some money was available, so I wrote a grant asking for 2 ipod touches (they use the same apps we do on our ipads.) Now every child in a reading group can be working on a device at our center time. Yahoo!Tuesday, October 18, 2011

The Caves at Lascaux France-Revisited!

We talked about the art that was left behind so many years ago in the caves in France. (Sam saw them in person last June!) We looked at the kinds of pictures they drew and then we drew our own with oil pastels and paint. It was great fun! Our spelling words have long vowels this week: bite, late, size, made, ate, fine, same, hide, mate , fate, date, late, nine, pine, shine, mine. The bonus words are divine, pine cone, whine (we don't do that in second grade...) and ice skate. |

Another Great Week!
It has been a busy and productive week in our second grade class! We took our first spelling test and had library and P.E. Our students are learning the routines and rules of the classroom and trying to get 100 minutes of reading a week. I am so proud of them!Friday, August 26, 2011
First Week of School-One Smart Cookie!
We had a "sweet" week in Second Grade! We got to know each other playing "Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?" We made our own clay cookies and we will be talking about the book, "One Smart Cookie" before we take our cookies home. Thursday, August 18, 2011
