Another Great Week!

It has been a busy and productive week in our second grade class! We took our first spelling test and had library and P.E. Our students are learning the routines and rules of the classroom and trying to get 100 minutes of reading a week. I am so proud of them!

First Week of School-One Smart Cookie!

We had a "sweet" week in Second Grade! We got to know each other playing "Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?" We made our own clay cookies and we will be talking about the book, "One Smart Cookie" before we take our cookies home.

We wrote down a short list of simple sight words to help us get going in our writing. These are quick review words which we will do some practice on in class and be tested on Thursday. Here are our words: the, and, said, my, come, it, you, I, at, me, a, be. Bonus words (optional) Brookwood, second, Mrs. Mootz, Mrs. Garrett

We will do a regular list next Friday with word chunks as well. Yea for Second Grade!

Welcome to a Great New Year!

Hello to my new friends in Second Grade! I hope that you have had a fun and relaxing summer. Mr. Garrett and I had a wonderful adventure in Italy and France. I can't wait to do more art with you, we saw a LOT of beautiful art in Europe.

Second Grade will be so much fun-I can't wait!
